Subject: Upgrade to Clearing Front End Software Version 5.2

 

Further to our circular Ref No: NSE/CMPT/9601 dated October 11, 2007 members are advised that the Clearing Front End (CFE) Software is being upgraded to Version 5.2.

 

In this new version, changes are made for handling order/trade number length from 15 digits to 16 digits. CFE Version 5.2 will use the F_ file that will be downloaded on a daily basis via the extranet.

 

Please note that on a daily basis F_ files as well as B_ files will be available on the Extranet as per current practice. The B_ files are meant only for use by Custodians. The F_files can be used only with CFE software.

 

Starting Monday October 22, 2007 the F_ files are to be uploaded in CFE Version 5.2. only and not in CFE version 5.1.

 

CFE Version 5.2 will be available for download from the extranet by end of day on Friday, October 19, 2007. All members/custodians are advised to install the upgraded CFE version 5.2 immediately, but no later than by October 22, 2007. The steps to be followed for installation are as per Annexure

CFE Version 5.2 Installation Procedure

 

Prerequisites

Incremental kit for CFE version 5.2 can be successfully installed only if the current version of CFE in the user machine is CFE version 5.1. This can be confirmed using Help – About System from the CFE application.

 

Installation Procedure

The release package shall contain the zip file CFEV52.zip

 

To install the software, the user should

  • Start the CFE version 5.1
  • Ensure that all daily clearing files are imported.
  • Take a back up of the Clearing Database.
  • Close all applications.
  • Create a directory CFEV52 in the C:\ drive of the local PC.
  • Copy the above mentioned file from the Extranet folder common\clearing\cfev52 to the folder C:\CFEV52 on the local PC.
  • Extract files from CFEV52.zip file in C:\CFEV52.
  • Click on setup.exe file in C:\ CFEV52 from windows explorer.
  • The following message will appear on the screen ‘Welcome to the CM Clearing Software Ver 5.2 installation program’
  • Click OK.
  • To begin the installation on the default drive C:\ (If C is the drive in which the current application version 5.1 is installed) click on the icon shown on the left hand side of the message screen.
  • For installing on any other drive click on ‘Change Directory’, specify the drive (like D:\ or E:\ depending upon the drive in which the current application version 5.1 is installed, but do not select sub-directory for installation) and click on OK. In a box provided for the directory name, the directory selected will be displayed. Then click on the icon as mentioned above.
  • The installation will prompt the user to ‘Choose Program Group’. By default ‘CM Clearing Software Version 5.2’ will be selected.
  • Click ‘Continue’ to proceed with the installation.
  • If older version is already installed, it will ask user to keep older files, Press on “No to All”.
  • The following message will appear on successful installation of the application ‘CM Clearing Software Version 5.2 setup was completed successfully’.
  • Click OK
  • In case you need to view old data please upload related old binary files, as per existing practice.
