Subject: Upgrade to Clearing Front End Software Version 5.2

In continuation to our circular Ref No: NSE/CMPT/9641 dated October 19, 2007, informing that version 5.2 of the Clearing Front End (CFE) Software is placed in the extranet for download, members are advised to take note of the following:

Members who have already downloaded version 5.2, will need to install another file ‘CFEV52-TRD_ORD_PATCH V 5.2A.zip’, from the revised kit for CFE Version 5.2 that is placed now on the extranet folder common/clearing/cfev52. This revised kit contains:

CFEV52.zip

CFEV52-TRD_ORD_PATCH V 5.2.zip

CFEV52-TRD_ORD_PATCH V 5.2A.zip

Members who have not already downloaded version 5.2 will need to install all the files as indicated above as per the procedure outlined in the readme_1021.txt

As stated earlier, in this new version, changes are made for handling order/trade number length from 15 digits to 16 digits. CFE Version 5.2 will use the F_ file that will be downloaded on a daily basis via the extranet. Please note that on a daily basis F_ files as well as B_ files will be available on the Extranet as per current practice. The B_ files are meant only for use by Custodians. The F_ files can be used only with CFE software.

Starting Monday October 22, 2007 the F_ files are to be uploaded in CFE Version 5.2. only and not in CFE version 5.1.

Please note a few very important prerequisites in this respect:

1. Members who are using microsoft windows operating system must copy the existing CFE 5.1 as well as all related files and databases to a machine running microsoft XP operating system with service pack 2.
2. Incremental kit for CFE version 5.2 can be successfully installed only if the current version of CFE in the user machine is CFE version 5.1.
3. The current version number can be confirmed using Help / About System from the CFE application.
4. The CFE version 5.2 must be installed and will work only with Microsoft XP Operating System with service pack 2.
5. Please note the data archived prior to October 19, 2007 cannot be viewed using CFE version 5.2.
6. CFE version 5.1 would be required to view data archived prior to October 19, 2007.

CFE Version 5.2 is available for download from the following three sources:

A) Via the Extranet FTP (Leased Line 51.1.100.1 & VSAT 61.1.1.2)

B) Via the Internet (IP address 203.199.75.110)

C) Via Connect2NSE (MPLS 10.5.1.11 & Internet 203.199.75.107)

All members/custodians are advised to install the upgraded CFE version 5.2 before loading of the first Data file on October 22, 2007. The detailed steps to be followed for installation are to be found in the ‘readme_1021.txt’ which should also be downloaded.
