Dear Members,

Sub: Mock trading on Saturday, December 13, 2008 and Sunday, December 14, 2008

New Version of NEAT F&O (9.0.2) & NEAT Plus Version 4.0.0

The Exchange will be conducting mock trading sessions in the Futures & Options Segment on Saturday, December 13, 2008 and Sunday, December 14, 2008 as per the following schedule:

Saturday, December 13, 2008
Normal Market / Exercise Market Open time	10:00 hrs.
Normal Market close time	12:00 hrs
Pre Open time	12:10 hrs
Normal Market re-open time	12:15 hrs
Normal Market close time	13:15 hrs
Position Limit/Collateral value Set up cut off time	13:15 hrs
Trade modification end time/ Exercise Market Close time	till 13:30 hrs
Sunday, December 14, 2008
Normal Market / Exercise Market Open time	10:00 hrs.
Normal Market close time	12:00 hrs
Position Limit/Collateral value Set up cut off time	12:00 hrs
Trade modification end time/ Exercise Market Close time	till 12:10 hrs
Live Re-login start time	14:30 hrs
Broadcast of mock successful/unsuccessful message	14:40 hrs
Live Re-login close time	15:00 hrs

The successful / unsuccessful outcome of the mock trading session shall be intimated to members through a message broadcast as per above schedule. Members are advised to also refer to the website of NSE at www.nseindia.com for any information which may be updated by the Exchange on the mock sessions.

Member are cautioned to note that upon successful mock trading, NEAT F&O Version 9.0.2 and NEATPlus Version 4.0.0 will be implemented in live environment with effect from Monday, December 15, 2008 and thus without installation of these new versions they will not be able to trade on Monday, December 15, 2008.

Interactive reports from the trader workstation (TWS) for trades done on Friday December 12, 2008 will be available only till 23:00 hrs on Friday, December 12, 2008. Members are advised to take the download of reports within the prescribed time.

Members using NEAT, NEATPlus and CTCL facility (using their CTCL software) are advised to participate actively in the mock trading sessions and are required to re-login into live environment

during the above mentioned timings to check the connectivity and also to avoid login problems on Monday, December 15, 2008.

Members using CTCL facility are advised to retain their existing setup as a contingency measure before installing the new setup.

Trades resulting from the mock trading sessions shall not attract any obligation in terms of funds and / or securities pay-in and pay-out. Members are also requested not to transfer any data files for the mock trading sessions.

Annexure - 1: Installation procedure for NEAT F&O (Version 9.0.2).

Annexure - 2: Installation procedure for NEATPlus (Version 4.0.0).

Annexure - 3: Precaution and procedure for reverting to earlier version

ANNEXURE – 1

Installation procedure for NEAT F&O (Version 9.0.2)

Precautions:

• Members are advised to install the new version only after end of live trading hours and after all end of day activities have been completed on Friday, December 12, 2008.
• Members are advised to take back up of all report files before upgrading the software.
• Members who wish to retain their existing market watch screen and client master are advised to take backup of the files 'mw****.dat and ‘cl****.dat’ respectively (**** = userid). These files can be found at '\NSEOP\BACKUP' directory on the logon drive.

Installation:

· Installation files shall be available after 17:00 hrs on Thursday, December 11, 2008.

· Installation files can be taken from path /faoftp/faocommon/Ver902 on NSE EXTRANET or internet ftp://203.199.75.110

· Download the files spreltdr.9.0.2 and opneattdr.bat into (C :\) in your local hard disk

· Go to MSDOS prompt

· Execute command : cd C:\

• Type: opneattdr.bat and press "enter"
• Set up the NSEOP icon on the Desk top and click on the icon.

Updating the new version with latest data:

· Download following files from NSE EXTRANET path /faoftp/faocommon/ onto (C :\) in your local hard disk:

1) contract.gz

2) fo_participant.gz

3) security.gz

• Unzip the above files
• Place the old ‘mw****.dat’ and ‘cl****.dat’ files in ‘C:\NSEOP\BACKUP’ directory.
• From the log on screen click on the “UPLOAD” button to update the contract, security and participant details.

ANNEXURE – 2

Installation procedure for new version of NEATPlus (Version 4.0.0)

Precautions:

• Members are advised to install the new version only after end of live trading hours and after all end of day activities have been completed on Friday, December 12, 2008.
• Members are advised to take back up of all report files before upgrading the software.

Installation:

· Installation files shall be available after 17:00 hrs on Thursday, December 11, 2008.

• Installation files can be downloaded from NSE EXTRANET path faoftp/faocommon/NEATPlus400
• Download the setup file ‘NEATPlusTWSSetup.exe’ to your hard disc in the root directory (i.e. C:\ or D:\ or E:\).
• Go to the drive where NEATPlusTWSSetup.exe is copied.
• Double click on the NEATPlusTWSSetup.exe.
• The files will be extracted with the window pop up ‘NEATPlus TWS Installer extracting files’.
• It will be followed by ‘NEATPlus Installer’ pop up window. Installation drive (where application will be installed) will be C: by default.
• The user can change the default installation drive to any other local drives (e.g. D: or E:)
• Click on ‘Install’ button on this pop up window and follow the installation instructions.
• Message of successful installation will be displayed once the complete application is installed.
• The user can run NEATPlus TWS application by double clicking on either of the following:

1. NEATPlus TWS shortcut icon created on the desktop.
2. NEATPlus TWS entry in the ‘Programs’ sub-menu of the ‘Start’ menu.
3. NEATPLUS.exe located in the NeatPlusDB-TWS directory in the installation drive.

Updating the new version with latest data:

· Download following files from NSE EXTRANET path /faoftp/faocommon/ onto the logon drive:

1) contract.gz

2) fo_participant.gz

3) security.gz

4) participant.gz

5) Portf_files.zip (from /faoftp/faocommon/NEATPLUS/). The portf_files are to be extracted at Logdrive:\NEATPlusDB-TWS\Initial

§ Unzip the above files

§ From the log on screen click on the “UPLOAD” button to update the contract, security, participant and portfolio details.

ANNEXURE – 3

Precautions and procedure for reverting to earlier version

These instructions are required to be followed to ensure that members are able to revert back to old version of NEAT F&O & NEATPlus and trade efficiently on Monday December 15, 2008 in the unfortunate event of the mock being declared unsuccessful.

Steps to be followed for reverting to old version of NEAT F&O:

· Installation files for old version can be taken from path /faoftp/faocommon/ver901 on NSE EXTRANET or internet ftp://203.199.75.110

· Download the files spreltdr.9.0.1 and opneattdr.bat into (C :\) in your local hard disk, if prompted, choose to overwrite the existing files

· Rename the existing NSEOP directory

· Go to MSDOS prompt

· Execute command : cd C:\

• Type: opneattdr.bat and press "enter"
• Set up the NSEOP icon on the Desk top and click on the icon.

• Place the old ‘mw****.dat’ and ‘cl****.dat’ files in ‘C:\NSEOP\BACKUP’ directory.
• Download the fresh contract.gz file from NSE EXTRANET path /faoftp/faocommon and unzip it on your log on drive (this step is very important to ensure trading on Monday, December 15, 2008)
• From the log on screen click the “UPLOAD” button to update the contract, security and participant details.

Steps to be followed for reverting to old version of NEATPlus:

• Download the set up file for old version ‘NEATPlusTWSSetup.exe’ from NSE EXTRANET path faoftp/faocommon/NEATPlus319 to your hard disc in the root directory (i.e. C:\ or D:\ or E:\). If prompted, choose to overwrite the existing file. Kindly choose the same drive where the proposed new version was installed.
• Go to the drive where NEATPlusTWSSetup.exe is copied.
• Double click on the NEATPlusTWSSetup.exe.
• The files will be extracted with the window pop up ‘NEATPlus TWS Installer extracting files’.
• It will be followed by ‘NEATPlus Installer’ pop up window. Installation drive (where application will be installed) will be C: by default.
• The user can change the default installation drive to any other local drives (e.g. D: or E:)
• Click on ‘Install’ button on this pop up window and follow the installation instructions.
• Message of successful installation will be displayed once the complete application is installed.
• Copy all the files in the folder "NPOPTCLIBACKUP" of the log drive to "BackUpDB-TWS" of the same log drive."
• The user can run NEATPlus TWS application by double clicking on either of the following:

4. NEATPlus TWS shortcut icon created on the desktop.
5. NEATPlus TWS entry in the ‘Programs’ sub-menu of the ‘Start’ menu.
6. NEATPLUS.exe located in the NeatPlusDB-TWS directory in the installation drive.

• From NSE EXTRANET path /faoftp/faocommon download contract.gz file and unzip it on your log on drive (this step is very important to ensure trading on Monday December 15, 2008)

§ From the log on screen click on the “UPLOAD” button to update the contract, security, participant and portfolio details.
