The press today had reports that the CLP-Power International, part of HK$22-bn CLP Holdings, is forming a joint venture company with Tata Power Co. Ltd for promoting power projects in India.
The Exchange in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the press and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded had written to the officials of Tata Power Co. Ltd.
Tata Power Co. Ltd has vide their letter dated February 12, 2001 stated that "With regards to the possible joint ventures with CLP on other businesses like distribution no finality has been reached between the Company and CLP, so far".
