Change in Index computation methodology of CNX Nifty Junior index w.e.f. May 04, 2009

CNX Nifty Junior is an index of next rung of 50 most liquid securities which are excluded from S&P CNX Nifty. Hence, S&P CNX Nifty and the CNX Nifty Junior as making up the 100 most liquid stocks in India. CNX Nifty Junior represents about 9.89 % of the total market capitalization as on Mar 31, 2009. The traded value for the last six months of all Junior Nifty stocks is approximately 14.88% of the traded value of all stocks on the NSE. The Exchange has index futures contracts based on CNX Nifty Junior.

Till April 29, 2009 the CNX Nifty Junior is computed using full market capitalization weighted methodology. With effect from May 04, 2009 CNX Nifty Junior is computed based on free float market capitalization methodology.
