The proposal will be screened by NSE to ensure that it is properly structured and is covered under the initiative. If found to be in order, it will be sent to two anonymous referees and evaluated on the following criteria: (a) Does the proposal address an important issue in India's securities market, and (b) Does the proposal offer a clear technique through which a sound answer can be obtained? Referee reports will be sent to the researcher by email.
If a proposal is accepted, the research would commence, and the first tranche of the research scholarship of Rs.25,000 (Rupees twenty-five thousand only) would be disbursed to the researcher. In case where the Referees seek for resubmission, the proposal has to be resubmitted within a period of three months, failing which the proposal shall be considered as Rejected.
The researcher is required to sign an undertaking letter containing the terms and conditions he is required to abide by. He should also endeavour to complete the research in about six months from the date of signing the undertaking letter. On completion of the research, the researcher would be required to submit on e-mail research@nse.co.in.:(a) the research paper in word format,(b) a 1,000 word non-technical summary of the work and (c) an undertaking that his work is original and previously unpublished.
The paper would be sent to one anonymous referee who could possibly ask for modifications necessitating re-submission. The re-submitted paper would also be sent to the referee.
If the referee accepts the paper, the second and final tranche of research scholarship of Rs.25,000 (Rupees twenty-five thousand only) would be disbursed.
NSE would be free to use or redistribute this work in any manner, while fully acknowledging the authorship.
Researcher may publish the work elsewhere. If published, the full citation would be shown on the NSE web site.
The refereeing process will be double blind, i.e. researchers will not know the identity of referees and vice versa. Further, to ensure the anonymity of this process, the researchers are not allowed to put the abstract of their papers on any of the URLs or any other platform before the final completion of their Research Paper under the NSE Research Initiative.
It should be noted that no completed work can be submitted as a proposal as NSE Research Initiative is not a forum to publish completed work.
