Sanitation and Safe Drinking Water
To collaborate with the Swachha Bharat Abhiyan vision of a Clean India, by providing access to sanitation facilities, solid and liquid waste disposal systems and making available safe drinking water in schools.
Beneficiaries: Close to 13, 000 primary school children have been impacted
Location of activity: Mumbai, Nashik and Akola - Maharashtra
Scope: Renovation of about 500 toilet seats in around 50 schools of Mumbai, Akola and Nashik .The project will impact 13000 children. The proposal includes maintenance, capacity building and behavioural change programs.
Project seeks to:
To support sanitation projects in municipal and zilla parishad schools.
- By repair and renovation of existing sanitation facilities.
- By inculcating behaviour change in school children to build awareness and instil positive hygiene practises.
- By training and capacity building of school management structures, teachers, sanitation workers and parents.
