STEP 01

Open Config File

In Claude Desktop, go to Settings → Developer → Edit Config.

Paste Configuration

Copy and paste this into your whole config file.

STEP 03

Restart & Verify

Quit & reopen Claude . You should see NSE tools available in the tools panel.

Open Settings

In Claude go to settings and open Connectors.

STEP 02

Add Connector

Click on 'Add' option and select 'Add custom connector' Enter connector name: "nse-bhavcopy" (for bhavcopy data) or "cm-market" (for CM data)

STEP 03

Server URL

Enter MCP server URL: "https://mcp.nseindia.in/bhavcopy/cm/mcp" (for bhavcopy data) or "https://mcp.nseindia.in/cmmkt/mcp" (for CM data)

STEP 04

Start Using

Click 'Add' to proceed.

STEP 01

Enable Developer Mode

Profile icon (bottom-left) → Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings → toggle Developer Mode on.
If accessing ChatGPT from Browser use Profile icon (bottom-left) → Settings → Security and login → toggle Developer Mode on.
This unlocks adding MCP server as a plugin within ChatGPT (available on paid ChatGPT plans).

STEP 02

Open Tools & Integrations

Desktop : Profile icon (bottom-left) → Plugins → Add → Add MCP Server.
Browser : Profile icon (bottom-left) → Plugins → Add → New Plugin.

STEP 03

Add the NSE Bhavcopy server and CM Market server

On Browser add the connector details. Select Streamable HTTP if connecting from Desktop App to add MCP server.
Name : nse-bhavcopy → Connection: https://mcp.nseindia.in/bhavcopy/cm/mcp → Authentication: No Auth → Save.
Name : cm-market → Connection: https://mcp.nseindia.in/cmmkt/mcp → Authentication: No Auth → Save.

STEP 04

Start Using it

Start a new chat and ask a market-data question (e.g. a stock's Bhavcopy history or live quote) to confirm the tools respond.
