NSE IPO listing in Samvat 2082 if - What CEO Ashish Chauhan said on Muhurat Trading 2025 day
Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD and CEO of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), has said that the Samvat 2081 should be better the last one. In an exclusive conversation with ET NOW on the occasion of Muhurat Trading on October 21, he also said that the NSE will be able to list its shares on the Dalal Street in next Samvat after obtaining no objection certification (NOC) from the regulator.
"We have great hopes that in new Samvat we should be able to list. We are still waiting for NOC from SEBI. Once SEBI gives NOC, 8-10 months is the plan we have... As NOC comes soon, we shall be able to list soon," he said.
NSE is India's largest stock exchange. NSE is making efforts for the last 9 years to list its shares on the BSE. But regulatory barriers have forced NSE to delay its IPO plans.
Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan further said that the markets are almost close to the fresh highs and that markets have performed well this Diwali in the, yielding almost 6.5 per cent returns. He said that markets have fallen because of various global factors and "we are now in a better situation".
"We will be able to achieve new highs in new Samvat," he said.
"India will perform better vs the world in next 25-30 years," Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan said, adding that earnings are now becoming reasonable to stock prices and for economy to grow, "we will require more companies to list".
Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan noted that NSE has 12 crore unique visitors with more than 3 crore women investors. In Q1 of current fiscal (FY2025-26), NSE had reported a 14 per cent rise in its consolidated profit after tax to Rs 2,924 crore. The exchange had posted a PAT of Rs 2,567 crore in the same quarter preceding fiscal year. The bourse's total income, however, dropped 3 per cent to Rs 4,798 crore in Q1 as against Rs 4,950 crore in the April-June quarter of FY25.
