Shri P. R. Ramesh, Public Interest Director

Mr. P. R. Ramesh has passed the final examination for bachelor’s degree in commerce from Osmania University, Hyderabad and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He currently leads the Insolvency Research Foundation and serves as a member of the Corporate Governance and Regulatory Affairs Council in the Confederation of Indian Industries. He has served as the chairman of Deloitte India and as a member of the Deloitte Global Board and the Deloitte Asia Pacific Board. He has also been associated with various regulatory bodies and industry bodies, including as a member of the SEBI High Powered Advisory Committee for considering settlement applications, the SEBI Committee on Disclosures and Accounting Standards, the Technical Committee to review the form and presentation of the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Account of the RBI and the Committee for Reforming the Regulatory Environment for doing Business in India set up by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. Previously, he was a president of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He has also been appointed as a member of the Advisory Group on Ease of Doing Business set up by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs and as a member of the Working Group set up by SEBI for comprehensive review of Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. Further, he was a member of the Risk Task Force set up by FICCI and Global Risk Management Institute, the committee set up by the Accounting Standards Board of the ICAI which finalised the ‘Guidance Note on Accounting for Real Estate Transactions’ and the chairman of the National Committee on Financial Reporting set up by Confederation of Indian Industries.
